Lỗi kết nối với MS Exchange Server với Outlook 2007

Mới đây mình gặp một lỗi và mất rất nhiều thời gian để xử lý (do chủ quan không cho rằng đây là một lỗi mới)

Outlook 2003 thỉnh thoảng không thể kết nối với Exchange 2010. Lỗi "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
Trong khi đó User vẫn connect tới Server khác và Internet bình thường. Connect bằng OWA vẫn hiển thị trang login nhưng không thể đăng nhập được (báo sai password)
Cho rằng Outlook 2003 lỗi -> Uninstall và cài Outlook 2007 -> lỗi y nguyên -> bực -> cài lại windows + office 2007 (fresh install) -> vẫn lỗi ->  bắt đầu ngộ ra đây là vấn đề mới. Bắt đầu đào bới sâu hơn.

+ Phát hiện thấy khi setup Outlook bằng cách cài tự động -> để Outlook tự detect server thông qua Username và E-mail address -> nó connect tới server exchange cũ chứ không phải server với (!)
+ Kiểm tra DNS không có vấn đề gì (server cũ không còn hiển thị trong DNS)
+ Ask Google
Tất cả đều không được.Cuối cùng thử theo hướng dẫn tại http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=319206
thì OK. Có lẽ vì nguyên nhân nào đó (lưu trong profile của user lưu trên server. Bởi vì cài fresh vẫn lỗi) chỉ Outlook connect tới server cũ trước -> gây lỗi. Do vậy KB 319206 hướng dẫn khai báo FQDN của GC -> tìm đúng địa chỉ -> OK

Một bài học thú vị nhưng mất quá nhiều thời gian!!!!!!!!!

If you are running a version of Exchange Server that is earlier than Exchange Server 2010, use the following steps to force Outlook to identify and use the closest global catalog server yourself.  

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit.exe, and then click OK.
3. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider
   Note You may have to create the registry path.
   
4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
   Value name: Closest GC
   Data type: REG_DWORD
   Radix: Hexadecimal
   Value data: 0x00000001
5. Quit Registry Editor.
   
   Note If you are running Exchange Server 2010 in your environment, you must configure your Outlook client to use Outlook Anywhere connectivity to resolve this issue.
